Free Beacon CATCHES New York Times Getting Rubio Hit From Leftist Opposition Research Firm!

When the New York Times published a ridiculous hit piece on Marco Rubio “exposing” his heinous record of traffic violations (FOUR in 17 years!!), the internet rightly ridiculed the hell out of them. But that was just the beginning. The awesome Free Beacon’s Brent Scher got to work on how they got that information and discovered something pretty damning:

Records show that each of the citations mentioned by the New York Times were pulled in person by American Bridge operatives on May 26, 2015.

Take for example the time Rubio was pulled over in 1997. “Mr. Rubio’s troubles behind the wheel predate his days in politics,” wrote the New York Times. “In 1997, when he was cited for careless driving by a Florida Highway Patrol officer, he was fined and took voluntary driving classes.”

A look at the docket for that infraction on Miami-Dade County’s website shows that American Bridge was in Miami to pull records on that case at 11:42 a.m. on May 26:

Neither of the reporters, Alan Rappeport and Steve Eder, appeared on the docket records for any of the traffic citations for Rubio and his wife. An additional researcher credited in the New York Times, Kitty Bennett, also does not appear on any of the court records.

BOOM! Is the New York Times resorting to running stories from Democratic opposition research firm rather than research themselves?

Just like ABC News did when the Beacon discovered the Stephanopoulos story, the NYT ran off to Politico in order to defend themselves, saying they didn’t get the info from American Bridge, but found it online then made an information request.

Here’s the problem with that:

SO what’s the truth here? I guess it’s just a coincidence that the pro-Hillary opposition research firm American Bridge found this info out and then the New York Times ran it? Isn’t it weird how coincidences always side against Republicans and never against Democrats?
