RATINGS ARE IN: Fox News gets FOUR TIMES as many viewers as Trump anti-debate rally!!!

trump crazy nuts

The ratings are in, and although Fox was definitely hurt by the absence of el Trumpo, they easily trounced the coverage of his anti-debate temper tantrum rally.

From CNN Money:

Donald Trump counter-programmed Thursday’s GOP primary debate with his own prime time event. So whose show scored a bigger audience?

Answer: Fox’s debate. But it was the second lowest rated debate of the season. So Trump is certain to take credit for hurting the channel’s total viewership.

The first hour of Fox’s Trump-less debate had an 8.4 household rating, according to early Nielsen data on so-called metered markets.

This means 8.4% of American homes with TV sets were watching the face-off.

The second hour had an 8.3 rating, which means the audience was loyal even though Trump was absent.

By comparison, two of the cable channels that showed parts of Trump’s event, CNN and MSNBC, had about a quarter of Fox’s audience combined.

The most recent GOP debate, televised two weeks ago on the Fox Business Network, had a household rating of 7.4.

So Thursday’s debate was bigger — but not by much.

The other five GOP debates of the cycle have had household ratings ranging from 8.9 to 15.9.

Actual viewership numbers will be available later in the day on Friday. Fox News likely had 11 million to 13 million viewers for the debate.

This isn’t really an honest comparison. If we want to do that, we need to compare to the ratings from GOP debates from the last presidential cycle.

Here’s one:

From the article:

…the debate on CNN averaged 5.357 million vewers and 1.741 million adults 25-54 between 8-10p…

Uh, so this debate gor more than twice what a similar debate did last election cycle, but what I’m already hearing is the press only comparing these numbers to the highest rated debate of this cycle.

So ask yourself this – if Trump is so anti-establishment and anti-media, why are they all shouting his praises all of a sudden?

Crazy: Fox News Releases Blistering Statement ACCUSING Trump Of THREATS And Terrorizations Against Megyn Kelly!!

    So what.

Trump is still in the lead by a landslide.

  • Under the Sea

Trump’s stunt probably cost him Iowa.

New Hampshire he should win though.

  • MrNishida

And, of course, they are not counting the millions who watched the Trump event online, on websites other than those of CNN or MSNBC (because they did not want to give those two a ratings boost).
And I am willing to bet that a lot of Democrats, in an effort to counter the hit on Fox by Trump, tuned their TV’s on to the Fox ‘debate’ (and then immediately turned the volume off and turned the tv around to face the wall, so that they did not have to hear it or see it).
These fellows actually do believe that if they pretend we do not exist, we do not exist. They are children.
They are going to be in for a rude awakening once the voting starts.
Because we do exist, regardless of whether they admit it or not. And we will vote, regardless of whether they like it or not.
Just like (to answer the famous rhetorical question), if a tree goes down in a forest and nobody is there to hear it, it still makes a sound, regardless of whether someone is there to hear it or not. They are two completely independent, not interdependent events. The compression and decompression of the air (commonly known as sound) happens regardless of whether someone is there to hear it or not.
They can ignore us all they want. We do exist, and we will vote.
The shock will be great. Their problem, not ours.

    But then again, maybe not.
Both of the last Iowa caucus winners showed up at the vet event…
And if he wins Iowa, he will run the table.
If he does not win Iowa, he is still ahead everywhere else.
A win in Iowa, considering he is ahead everywhere else, would basically mean it is over.
A loss in Iowa means the fight goes on for a little bit longer, but considering he is ahead everywhere else, the end result will be the same.

Yet their ratings were still HALF of what they were from the first debate, which included Trump.

    Conclusion? Fox got Trumped. Again.

C-Span not included in ratings. They were the only one who showed Trump event entirely. MSNBC and CNN kept cutting in to bloviate. I switched to C-Span after 15 minutes seeing their crappy coverage.

While the 8.4 were watching Cruz get creamed, more were watching Trump rally the troops and raised over $6 million dollars- who’s the winner–US!!

HERE: let me re-write your smearjob “headline” for you:

“A last-minute, improvised media event of a Veterans’ Fundraising event
televised by a Media outlet which hurriedly took on the challenge
featuring THE NEXT PRESIDENT OF THESE UNITED STATES, Donald J. Trump,
gets 25% of the viewers as the WEEKS-LONG ADVERTISED debates by
    the In-The-Tank-for-the-GOP-Establishment Media Outlet.”

    FIXED IT FOR YA.

  • Lockstein13

    NOPE! Quite to the contrary:

    The media utterly TRASHED
Cruz, last night in the debate…
…EVER SO INDIRECTLY: it was Rubio
who got most of the praise, meaning…
…that degree of support will come from CRUZ’s numbers
in Iowa…NOT from the guy who
was smart enough to recognize and avoid the massacre.

    ergo: TRUMP WINS IOWA.
    BWAHAHAHAHA!!!

As I see it, without Trump having thrown his hat in the ring,
Ted would have been NO MATCH to the schemings
of the GOP Establishment and their media handmaidens.

Cruz’s thinking is fully dependent upon
    playing THEIR games…guaranteed to fail.
    Each. And. Every. Time.

And EACH of us would have been stuck “supporting” Bush or
Rubio…AGAIN. (i.e. no different from Romney or McCain)

Trump did a nice Jerry Lewis fund raising show. Shows where his talents are.

  • jimthezed

On the FOX GOP debate, you saw your nominee at best in a distant second place.

  • Lockstein13

    I LOVE NUMBERS too, Sooper!
Fox’s viewership for yesterday’s debate WITHOUT TRUMP
was 48% LOWER than the previous debate WITH TRUMP.

    Aren’t numbers NEAT?!?
