Whiny Millennial Gets FIRED From Yelp 2 Hours After Begging CEO To Pay For Her Heating And Food!

Another whiny Millennial has made the news with her idiotic pathetic demand that others take care of her. This time it was a pathetic wretch named Talia Jane who wrote an open letter to the CEO of the company she was working for, begging that he pay for her poor choices in life.

Watch below:

Here are some excerpts from her moronic post:

When I was a kid, back in the 90s when Spice Girls and owning a pager were #goals, I dreamed of having a car and a credit card and my own apartment. I told my 8-year old self, This is what it means to be an adult.

Now, seventeen years later, I have those things. But boy did I not anticipate a decade and a half ago that a car and a credit card and an apartment would all be symbols of stress, not success.

I left college, having majored in English literature, with a dream to work in media. It was either that or go to law school. Or become a teacher. But I didn’t want to become a cliche or drown in student loans, see. I also desperately needed to leave where I was living — I could get into the details of why, but to sum up: I wanted to die every single day of my life and it took me several years to realize it was because of the environment I was in. So, I picked the next best place: somewhere close to my dad, since we’ve never gotten to have much of a relationship and I like the weather up here. I found a job (I was hired the same day as my interview, in fact) and I put a bunch of debt on a shiny new credit card to afford the move.

She chose to be an English lit major – nobody forced her to make such a dumb decision. And if you do that, you can’t expect to have a decent job straight out of college. I’m sorry, but you can’t. The world just doesn’t need that many English lit majors.

Then she whines that she has to work for a whole YEAR before getting a promotion!

Coming out of college without much more than freelancing and tutoring under my belt, I felt it was fair that I start out working in the customer support section of Yelp/Eat24 before I’d be qualified to transfer to media. Then, after I had moved and got firmly stuck in this apartment with this debt, I was told I’d have to work in support for an entire year before I would be able to move to a different department. A whole year answering calls and talking to customers just for the hope that someday I’d be able to make memes and twitter jokes about food. If you follow me on twitter, which you don’t, you’d know that these are things I already do.

You know why they have that policy? Because people with useless degrees like hers are a dime a dozen. If she had any marketable skill, then they’d promote her far quicker.

What an insufferable idiot. And it sounds like she found a whole gang of insufferable idiots to be idiotic with her:

So here I am, 25-years old, balancing all sorts of debt and trying to pave a life for myself that doesn’t involve crying in the bathtub every week. Every single one of my coworkers is struggling. They’re taking side jobs, they’re living at home. One of them started a GoFundMe because she couldn’t pay her rent. She ended up leaving the company and moving east, somewhere the minimum wage could double as a living wage. Another wrote on those neat whiteboards we’ve got on every floor begging for help because he was bound to be homeless in two weeks. Fortunately, someone helped him out. At least, I think they did. I actually haven’t seen him in the past few months. Do you think he’s okay? Another guy who got hired, and ultimately let go, was undoubtedly homeless.

Anyway, she continues on this way like an entitled brat, demanding the world make up for her poor life choices.

Thank God in heaven that the CEO of Yelp is a rational person, because this happened two hours later:

UPDATE: As of 5:43pm PST, I have been officially let go from the company. This was entirely unplanned (but I guess not completely unexpected?) but any help until I find new employment would be extremely appreciated.

She posted links to her paypal so that other idiots can pay her way through life, but I didn’t want to repost them here. I do encourage you to cast as much vituperation at her Twitter account as possible though:

If there is a whiny petulant equivalent to Hitler’s butthole, it’s this idiot’s character.

You mean…she was working for FREE????

I despair, how can an economy work if you do not pay your workers enough to live?

  • First off, that’s stupid. Second off, nearly every economy that paid beneath “living wage” standard of today worked fine. Your words don’t make sense.

  • She made about $800 every two weeks – it’s in her post.

  • Peter Cooper

Living wage is living wage, it does not relate to any standard of today. An economy needs consumers, consumers need free cash. Ohhh, perhaps you are talking about slaves, but even they were give free board and lodging.

  • Of course it does. Are you serious? Our standard of living is ridiculously high compared to other countries and other people at other times. You’re a damn fool if you don’t recognize that.

  • MrNishida

This is one thing we can agree on, Soop.
The self-entitled special little snowflakes do not understand (or willingly refuse to admit) that there is a difference between a starter job and a ‘living wage’ job. And they think the planet owes them just because.
The concept that if they want a ‘living wage’ job they need to get a real education (be it college or trade) and experience in a real field goes right over their pretty little heads. And they expect those of us who have not made their poor choices for them to pay for their lack of judgment.
I made poor choices early in life- I wasted three years in college (think of the movie ‘Animal House’- that was me!). And I paid for my own mistakes, I did not demand that somebody else pay for them. I decided that I needed to straighten my life out, so I joined the military.
Twenty years in the Coast Guard- brutal, grueling schedules, loneliness, life or death decisions, crushing responsibilities, 113 degree heat with the deafening roar of the main engines around me as my ship pounded its way through angry, bone- jarring seas to save people or bust bad guys… yeah, I paid for my mistakes. And in the process gained experience and training in leadership, work habits, adaptability, engineering… between that, and what I did learn in college, I was able to land a good job after the Coast Guard.
Now, at age 61 (happy birthday to me, two days ago) I am raking in 70K a year. And I busted my butt for decades to achieve that.
The special snowflakes believe that they are entitled to that fresh out of college or high school, without working for it or cracking a fingernail, with their degree in Advanced Unicorn Studies or Underwater Basket Weaving. These people are being hit hard by reality, the end result of liberal coddling. They make me want to throw up, what a bunch of wuzzies.
Upon graduation, everyone should be given the same warning the head instructor gave my Electrician’s Mate ‘A’ school class upon graduation:
“You made it. You now believe you know everything about your chosen rate. Wrong. You know next to nothing. You know just enough to be really dangerous, just enough to blow yourselves or somebody else up. Real knowledge will come later, with further training and experience. Until then, don’t be arrogant, and don’t blow yourselves or somebody else up.”

  • MrNishida

Unfortunately, I do believe he is serious.
Notice he talks about ‘consumers’ and ‘free cash’, not money that you earn through work.
The free chit crowd are insane. Have no doubt, their end goal is to have people get paid for doing nothing. A gigantic welfare state. They do not understand that WORK DOES MORE THAN JUST PROVIDE A SALARY.
They do not realize that if everyone sits at home, waiting for their ‘free cash’, no one is making anything, or providing services, or growing food. So, if no one is producing or making anything, what are they going to consume? They would have all the ‘free money’ on the planet, and they would starve to death while living in caves and sitting on piles of their own s*it…
These people are beyond stupid. And the brainwashing is such that they are beyond reason, facts and logic do not matter to them.

  • “Asking a Democrat where money and labor come from is like asking a 6-year old where Santa Claus comes from.”

Help me out here. Who said that? Thomas Sowell?

  • Sanchez

I know many including myself who made decent livings with no college at all.

  • Sanchez

Getting paid enough to live is YOUR job not an employers.

  • Sanchez

    “consumers need free cash.”

    There you have it.

  • MrNishida

Perseverance, willpower, common sense, good planning, and a good grasp on reality- things they do not teach in college- are a bigger part of the equation of life than college. College can help, but it is not all, not by a long shot.
The special snowflakes believe that college is all they need. Wrong. Without the above mentioned things, they will never achieve anything of note.
I know plenty of people who did not do one day of college, yet they make far, far more than the average college graduate because they had all of the above.
And I have met plenty of college graduates with degrees in useless and/or oversaturated fields working minimum wage, dead end jobs because of their bad decisions, and lack of the above.

The combination served me my Dad my brother and son well.

More proof college is a luxury often wasted on the stupid. Bet she attended a lot of bitchin’ fleek parties while she was there, though. I suggest, young lady, you clean up your act, find yourself a nice young man, marry him and start a family, be a good mother to your children and a wildcat for your husband in bed, and STFU that the world isn’t letting you live your dream on your terms.

  • The Serf

I bet you she learned this self-entitlement mentality from her mother.

The problem with women today is that no men ever put a stop to their endless complaining and narcissism so they think what they believe is reality.

Women are horrible because men are pussies.

  • The Serf

Do you know how utterly ridiculous and uneducated you sound?

Do you understand the concept of what an economy is?

The employer offers you a salary or wage for work. The worker performs. Employer pays for that performance. That is the relationship. The employer has nothing to do with what you do with the rest of your life. Paid wages for work performed. Very simple concept. Your private life is your own. The employer isn’t a mommy who has to support the person 24 hours a day.

If nobody takes the wage offered, the wage goes up.

Where were you educated? In a correspondence school?

  • Peter Cooper

Tell me, who buys the goods manufactured by the company? There are two sides to any economy. Or didnt you think about that?

  • The Serf

Your question is meaningless. You understand nothing about basic economics. A company exists to provide a good or service. It hires people to help the company function to produce that good or service. That is the relationship. The company pays a wage for work. It has nothing to with the rest of that person’s life outside of work. That is the employee’s responsibility. If there are no employees, wages go up until somebody comes along.

That is called a free market. It is called freedom. It is none of your business what companies and employees do. That is their contract, not yours.

If you own a car and buy gas, the only relationship is between the buyer and seller. That’s it.

What people do with the rest of their lives is their business.

You are pretty dense. I suggest you take a basic class in economics at a community college.

  • Peter Cooper
  • The Serf

What does that have to do with anything?

Explain why an employer is responsible for a person’s life outside paying money for their work?

You are so dense you don’t even understand the concept that an employee can freely choose to work for a certain wage. What they do with that wage is their business. If they can’t afford their lifestyle, they need to find a better job that pays more.

That is called freedom. Something you don’t understand very well.

Do you know who is responsible for your life? You. That is it. Do you know who is responsible for paying your bills? You.

A company is not an extension of your family.

  • The Serf

Peter Cooper is pretty stupid, that is for sure.

Now I’m no English Major, but shouldn’t the first word in a sentence be capitalized?
